AHMUNC 2013 was an unforgettable day. Delegates prepared for the conference by reading the UNDP background guide authored by Nicholas Emery, researching conflict prevention and preparing position papers. We were inspired by Aashna Mehra, Princeton University student and Secretary-General of PMUNC 2013, as she shared her Model UN experiences. Our awareness was raised hearing Salvator Nkurunziza Skype from West Africa about the plight of child soldiers and what we can do about it. We learned Model UN procedure and worked together to form a comprehensive resolution. Said one parent: “We’ve had some wonderful experiences with homeschooling over the years, but I can honestly say that the AHMUNC 2013 Conference was one of the best!”
