NAIMUN 2014 was held in the middle of a major snowstorm but many schools, including international ones, were determined not to let the weather hold them back:
Nathan Emery, Head Delegate, was Shigenori Tōgō – Foreign Minister for Joint Regional: Operation Downfall, 1945 – Imperial Japanese War Cabinet. In a midnight crisis, the committee responded to an attack on Manchuria.
Nicholas Emery was Minister of the Exterior, Yedinstvo: Vladimir Putin’s Cabinet, 2000.
The committee reenacted the transition of power to Vladimir Putin and made difficult decisions about Chechnya, corruption and Russia’s place on the world stage.

ILMUNC XXIX was no exception to the tradition of organizational excellence and dynamic, international atmosphere. Our club created a trailer posted to YouTube that captures it.
Our club worked closely with the ILMUNC Secretariat to be assigned a country who is an international player in Panama with significant committee assignments:
Nathan Emery, Head Delegate, World Bank (by application)
Graduated Member, Deputy Head Delegate, Disarmament and International Security (DISEC)
Nicholas Emery, UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
Nicholas Pearson, International Maritime Organization (IMO)
PMUNC could not have been more thrilling. We attended under our charter club, CHAPMUN, as the nation Estonia, and our committees were engaging:
Nicholas Emery, Head Delegate, Estonia, World Trade Organization (WTO)
Topics of debate included Agricultural Products, especially Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), and Intellectual Property including the balance of incentivizing pharmaceutical organizations to invest in research and development by earning a sufficient return through legal protections balanced against the need for inexpensive life-saving drugs in third-world countries.
Nathan Emery, Israel, International Olympics Committee (IOC)
The committee debated the three proposed locations for the 2020 games ahead of the actual IOC decision as well as proposing changes to the Olympic Charter, the first principle of which is “Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy of effort, the educational value of good example, social responsibility and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles.”
Eva-Marie Quinones, Sudan, South Sudanese Cabinet
This special committee represented members of the South Sudanese Cabinet about issues as they were deep in conflict with North Sudan. A special dynamic was added to the committee as the chair was a Princeton student from South Sudan and the committee was graced with a conference call with an actual South Sudan cabinet member.
