Q: What grades participate in Model UN?
A: Students in grades 7 – 12 are welcome to participate. Sometimes students in grades 7 & 8 are not quite ready for Model UN. Readiness is better evaluated on a student-by-student basis and the best way is to evaluate it to visit all or part of a club event.
Q: I’m new to Model UN. How do I get started?
A: There are many ways to get started with Model UN. The official Model UN website has a variety of activities to introduce students to the UN and Model UN. Further, our site has a series of “How to” articles that describe how to prepare for a Model UN conference.
The best way to learn about Model UN is to experience it. At AHMUNC 2014, both novice and experienced delegates can gain more experience with Model UN through a keynote speech, delegate training and committee sessions.
Q: Do I need prior Model UN experience?
A: No! Part of the reason for the conference is to help homeshcoolers experience Model UN for the first time. Experienced Model UNers will also benefit from the conference.
Q: Why are some pages on the site not showing up properly?
A: We recommend using Safari, Firefox or Chrome for optimal viewing.
